About
Sunnyside Gardens has been helping to grow a healthy garden and landscape community in Minneapolis since 1935. What started out as a small garden plot over 80 years ago has grown to become the home of Minnesota’s premier gardening and landscaping experts.

Happy Black History Month! To celebrate, on Fridays we’ll be spotlighting a local, Black-owned business that we partner with at the co-op. Here are a few ways you can celebrate throughout the month and year:
Seek out Black-owned businesses. Grab a bite at Minneapolis’ Breaking Bread Café (@breakingbreadmn), take in a show at the @PenumbraTheatre, or grab something fantastical to read at @MindsEyeComicsMN.
Support Black artists. The Rituals of Resilience exhibition at @ArtsMIA or the @MN_African_American_Heritage_ Museum are great places to start. There are also many collections of Black art you can view for free online.
Listen to and amplify Black voices, whether through books, podcasts, movies, music, or history. Seek out sources that center and amplify the Black experience. Support those voices wherever you are able, either with your own voice or your money.
Don’t stop celebrating at the end of the month. Black history is ongoing so celebrate it every day!

Lakewinds Food Co-op
Minnesota community owned co-op specializing in local and organic foods since 1975. Bringing the farm to you!
There’s no membership required to shop at the co-op! All are welcome. When you shop at the co-op, you’re doing more than buying local, sustainable, and organic food — you’re supporting a healthy local food system. That means that local farmers are paid fairly for what they grow. We visit the farms we partner with to learn about their practices, from regenerative agriculture to rotational grazing to organic practices certified by Real Organic Project. At the co-op, we evaluate each item before it’s allowed on our shelves to ensure it meets our high product standards, so you can shop with confidence.
