Happy Anniversary Wise Acre Eatery – Minneapolis, MN

Happy Anniversary Wise Acre Eatery – Minneapolis, MN

On this weekend in 2011, Wise Acre proudly opened its doors for the first time. Our mission was simple, we wanted to connect people to the soil from which their food was grown in a way never done before. We wanted to create a restaurant with its very own farm and a farm with its very own restaurant. We wanted to serve food raised just 45 minutes from the doorway that our guests passed through. Our goal was to create a dining experience that extended beyond the spread that was passionately placed on our tables. We wanted to provide deeper meaning to the food, from where it came, and from whose hands it was made. Not an easy undertaking by any stretch of the imagination but worth it. During these years, much food has been enjoyed, drinks have been poured, experiences learned, tears shed (happy and sad), laughter had, and lifelong friendships and relationships forged. The team of people that created Wise Acre are all truly amazing people. Each and every one of you (and you know who you are) that has been a part of Wise Acre since the beginning have touched many with your smiles, your hospitality, and your passion. You are the heartbeat of Wise Acre. We have been honored to have guests with the same passion and desire to partake in a food system that is shorter, more sustainable, and leaves a positive impact on the world around us. No, this is not a post announcing the end of Wise Acre. Instead, we are sharing with you that our commitment and resolve grows stronger with each passing day. We are deeply saddened to see those that we respect so much being forced to close their doors. We don’t need to say how hard it is right now, it has already been said. We can only look forward to the day that we can welcome them back and enjoy their craft once again. For Wise Acre the fight will continue. We will look for new ways to stay true to our commitment of providing, fresh, local, clean food. We will adapt. We will look for new ways and new opprtunities. In the end we will change. Change is something we are not afraid of. Our survival is rooted in our ability to evolve. Like the caterpillar entering a cocoon, we believe something beautiful will emerge.
