The Museum of Russian Art: Born in the post-WWII Soviet Union, on the shore of the Sea of Azov, Vladimir Dikarev received his training at the Uzhgorod Fine Arts College. Situated near the borders of Slovakia and Hungary, the thousand-year-old Uzhgorod is the westernmost of Ukraine’s regional centers. While at school, Vladimir combined his academic studies with his extracurricular interests in eastern and western philosophy, poetry, and religion. His artistic tastes and preferences matured in the liberal milieu of the quaint town on the edge of the Soviet monolith. Graduating with honors in 1968, Dikarev worked as a mosaicist, muralist, stained glass artist, and book illustrator for various Soviet-era projects.
In his studio, Dikarev explored surrealism, a style not favored by the Soviet art establishment. During the Perestroika period of the late 1980s and after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Dikarev exhibited his works in Ukraine, Russia, the Netherlands, Germany, and the United Kingdom, as well as other European countries and the US. He moved to Minnesota in 1997. Since 2000, he has exhibited his works in San Francisco, Bloomington, Saint Paul, Minneapolis, and other American venues.

Omforme Interior Design: It’s been a long run. The details intricate, the challenges almost insurmountable, but the end is in sight and I’m so proud of how this near wreck of a home has gained its Phoenix like wings to soar again.
I have been working on this historical restoration of @the_foley_mansion for 2.5 years. Every ounce of my expertise in historical design has been engaged. It is a pure privilege to work on such an iconic and enormous home. Every old photo, every artisan and craftsman who blessed us with their old world skills, I thank you deeply for the priceless contribution. This is the biggest restoration project I’ve ever accomplished and it ain’t over yet; we’ve got to fill the home with style and substance through furnishings ready to delight those who live in the 21st century. Containers full of exquisite pieces will soon have a life inside this magnificent home. This place will once again be cherished, offering its grace upon the public as an events space so that all in the community can partake and enjoy what was once lost, but now reborn. Please follow @the_foley_mansion and help us become a success story !

With live accompaniment by the Kenwood Symphony Orchestra, directed by Dr. Yuri Ivan.

Join us in welcoming local stained glass artist Michael Lizama in his first solo exhibition “Wonderlands”. Lizama incorporates repurposed cathedral glass into his windows to depict futuristic and otherworldly characters. His windows narrate new stories inspired by his childhood in growing up in Hawaii in the 60’s, comics, pop culture, and all things Japanese.

Michael Lizama is a graphic designer, illustrator, and stained glass artist. In 1978, Lizama graduated from Colorado State University with a BFA focusing on printmaking, graphic design, and biomedical illustration. He attended glass painting workshops by the late Dick Millard at the Antrim School in New Hampshire.
While working professionally as a graphic designer, Lizama finds relief from the constraints of client-based design in creating stained glass windows depicting futuristic and otherworldly characters. His window designs incorporate repurposed glass from cathedral windows, narrating new stories inspired by his childhood in growing up in Hawaii in the 60’s and his love of nature, marine life, comics, pop culture, and all things Japanese. Lizama’s windows have received awards from the Denver Botanic Gardens Glass at the Gardens, Glass Endeavors, Artists del Norte, and the Minnesota State Fair.
