This gorgeous display will surely make it onto your yearly Christmas bucket list. On this self-guided tour, guests will experience the decorated first floor, second floor, and lower level of the Christmas mansion. New in 2023: Glensheen will offer Full Mansion Candlelight Tours on the same days we offer Classic Candlelight Tours. Explore all 5 floors of the mansion for the first time this year during candlelight tours!

While on tour, you’ll explore the Congdon carriage collection, the inside of the boathouse, secret compartments in desks, and hidden spaces across the estate. You’ll also learn more about the Congdon family and the staff who worked for them across the estate throughout the 90-minute tour. We highly recommend this tour for guests who have already taken or who plan to take a Classic or Full Mansion self-guided tour of the house.

No matter if you’ve been before or if this will be your first time, Glensheen is a must-stop destination for your holiday vacation or trip to Duluth. The entire estate glows during the winter, and after your tour, you are free to wander the grounds and explore to your heart’s desire. Not only can you experience brand-new decorations and themed rooms, but we are also hiding 25 elves throughout the mansion to find as you take your tour. The sneaky elves like to hide in funny places throughout the mansion, making for a great scavenger hunt for guests of all ages! We look forward to welcoming you to Glensheen this holiday season!

Winter at Glensheen

Glensheen is gorgeous, inside and out, at this time of year! This afternoon, the M/V James R. Barker passed by the house around 4pm and we were lucky enough to capture it to share with you. With Spirit of the Lights up and running for the evening and the house being transformed for our Candlelight Tour experience, Friday afternoons are a wonderful time to visit.
