Fresh Traditions XV – Expo & Fashion Show
Fresh Traditions is back with Season XV at Saint Paul RiverCentre for our Arts and Crafts Fashion Expo and “The Collection: Power in Diversity” fashion show.
Arts and Crafts Fashion Expo: 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. There will be over 20+ vendors featuring local cultural artisans showcasing their unique handmade treasures from fashion, makeup, jewelry, paintings, woodwork, home décor and much more! Explore and find unique pieces you can take home. This event precedes our annual fashion show, Fresh Traditions, which will start promptly at 7:00 PM. The arts and crafts show is FREE and kid friendly.
Fresh Traditions XV Fashion Show: 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. This year’s theme is “The Collection: Power in Diversity.” Showcasing the variety of Hmong groups, this year our 9 designers will be taking a pit stop at the roots of our Hmong cultural wear. With the inspiration from the groups, they will then create fresh and contemporary interpretations for the youth, elder, petite and plus. This portion of the event requires the purchase of a ticket. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
About
Fresh Traditions was created in 2006 as a program under CHAT. It is a culturally inspired fashion event that exhibits the creativity, originality, and quality of work by Hmong fashion designers. The history of Hmong art is rooted and sewn into the fabrics of traditional Hmong clothing where the unique combination of vibrant colors and textures makes the Hmong identifiable. Through Fresh Traditions, Hmong designers are given the opportunity to create designs and welcome them to life on the runway.
