Boundary Waters Minnesota: Hannah Palma Ceramics – Grand Marais

boundarywaters_minnesota: Hello fellow paddlers! It’s time for another feature in #BWCAHangouts! 2020 was a tough year for many businesses, lets try to remember to support the local #BWCA community!
Meet Hannah Palma:  My work is a fusion of Japanese Woodblock Printmaking & Ceramics. I carve nature and abstract versions of moments we experience in nature that change us. I am extremely interested in our connection to each other through nature, and the earth’s energy passed between maker & user. I also sketch images that I then make into wooden stamps to press into the clay.

I was born and raised in Grand Marais, which is where my love and curiosity for the wild and nature was fostered. I grew up in a little cabin on big land tucked right between Lake Superior and the Boundary Waters. I now reside 9 miles east of Grand Marais on the shores of Lady Lake Superior, which influences my work greatly. My full functioning studio & business is run in my 220 sq ft half garage next to my house. I am thankful every day for getting to do what I love as my job.

I have a website restock approximately every 6 weeks, and the next one is set for November. Exact date TBD.
