“Our team is eager to craft something unique in our new home this winter.”
Ice Castles is returning to the Twin Cities again this winter, this time setting up camp at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.
After moving locations to Maple Grove last year, it was announced Monday that the winter wonderland will be relocating again to the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in Falcon Heights, featuring new designs with “plenty of fairytale experiences.”
The popular attraction debuted in Maple Grove last winter, having been in New Brighton since 2020.
“The decision to move to the Minnesota State Fairgrounds comes after careful consideration,” said Ice Castles CEO Kyle Standifird. “We value our relationship with the City of Maple Grove and Experience Maple Grove, but we faced some construction challenges at that site last year.”
“Our team is eager to craft something unique in our new home this winter. The State Fairgrounds are centrally located, well-known, and have plenty of infrastructure to handle our construction and operational needs.”
Construction for the Ice Castles will begin in November. An approximately 20-person team of ice artisans will spend weeks building the winter playground.
